When the universe was made it was not made equal however it was made. It should have consisted of matter and antimatter in equal quantities but this would have meant annihilation for our wonderful universe. Luckily for us there is just matter to worry about.
The Fermilab (obviously trying to beat the LHC to the find) have taken a small step towards what the source of this discrepancy could be.
The particle called a Neutral b-meson shifts spontaneously between its normal particle and antiparticle halves. If the particle spent slightly longer in one half of its shift this will affect the ratio of matter to antimatter that is produced. Therefore there will be a minute amount of antimatter produced. It won’t last long though!
This could be right or it could be wrong confirmation is still needed, perhaps the large hadron Collider will provide it.
