Obviously* they are outside our visible 3 dimensions, and obviously there is much more "hyper-volume" outside of your 3 dimensions than the size of the entire universe. Just extrapolate from the flatland vs 3D analogy: imagine looking down at a world that only has 2 dimensions - where is the third one? Well, not "rolled up" inside the 2D plane, but outside of it! *if the existence of these dimensions is assumed, of course I cringe every time I hear or read about the idea of additional dimensions being “rolled up” because “they ought to be somewhere”.
