Yes, one of these days the orbit of Earth is going to be classified as a sewage farm.

I went up in space last nite and performed an EVA connected to my space umbilical cord and played the violin while floating in outerspace...when to my surprise Jim Lovell's "space poop" landed & splatted right on my face on my astronaut goldfish space-helmet. ooh!

I will have to think and have a look round the Internet when I have time to see what ideas people have come up with and any ideas I can come up with. If there are enough. I'll do a post on them.

NASA and the ESA and others seem to be in constant thought about this but that is all at the moment. It will get to the point where there will be so much junk that it needs to be cleared because Space travel is getting just too dangerous. They will either clear it up or spacecraft will get heavier and heavier as the protection gets more and more.
Exactly, Chris! In one of my post a serious commenter posted a comment talking about to make space craft just too stealthy to be endangered by debris.
<a href="http://bruceleeeowe.wordpress.com/2009/11/03/space-junk-threat-to-future-launches/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://bruceleeeowe.wordpress.com/2009/11/03/space-junk-threat-to-future-launches/</A>
But idea seems quite implausible. I don't think NASA and ESA are serious instead I find internet media is more serious. However, searching for some solutions.

Really a great post. According to data in the post it is very serious problem. Space junk is increasing continuously. We are continuously exposing such "fatal materials" into space because most of us think usable space is limited. Damn ! Have we any solutions, Chris?
