Actually, I was referring to the dinosaur era Which I tend to think of as millions of years ago. It’s nice to know some of them survived that asteroid strike that was supposed to wipe them out. Do you know how the ones that you are talking about survived?

Actually the dinosaurs are not extinct, they are all around us. One lineage survived, which we now classify as Aves. Some of them are pretty smart compared to your average lizard. The African Gray Parrot Alex learned English with a couple of hundred word vocabulary and rudimentary syntax.

Unfortunately, since their front limbs are now wings they can’t use them for manipulation and have very limited ability as toolmakers.

I would argue that fish were having such a terrific time and became so successful in the water that it led to some dissenters leaving the water in search of a quieter place to settle down, away from the loud parties and competition due to population pressure.

Got any information on the artists of those images? I recall seeing the flying alien fishes one in a really old book about the solar system I had once, but can’t remember who the artist was.
